Around fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then located many other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state early analysis suggest the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are not yet aware of any injuries in relation with the incident," they added.
Municipal representatives said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the residents for details.
A senior representative stated the attack rendered him stunned and had to be resolved promptly.
"This event hits the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on people of immigrant origin in 2020.
