The nail-biting extended matchup that saw the Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays by one run averaged a total over 50 million viewers in the US, Canada, and Japan markets. MLB announced this is the highest-rated Fall Classic Game 7 since the 1991 showdown featuring the Twins and Braves.

In the Japanese market, where the deciding game started at 9 PM local time, it averaged 12 million viewers. This came after the previous Friday’s Game 6 – where World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed one run in six frames – recorded 13.1 million spectators, making it the most-watched Fall Classic game on a sole broadcaster in Japan.
